Whois协议

whois协议文档为RFC812,其定义了与whois服务器的交互流程及内容。

whois服务器是世界上各级Internet管理机构所设立的可以查知IP地址和域名所有者登记资料的服务器，全世界国际区域性的IP地址管理机构有四个：ARIN、RIPE、APNIC、LACNIC，分别管理北美洲，欧洲，亚洲及澳大利亚，南美洲这几个区域。

LACNIC	whois.lacnic.net	拉丁美洲及加勒比互联网络信息中心(巴西圣保罗)	拉丁美洲及加勒比海诸岛IP地址信息

查询示例

在linux类型的操作系统中通常默认都有whois程序，其依照whois协议实现了ip查询功能，同时许多网站提供的ip查询功能也是基于whois协议实现的。使用whois程序我们可以得到如下信息，以查询baidu.com(39.156.69.79)为例。
